Fellowship Activities
Covenant has very active adults. We have many activities and events in our church. Here are some of the things we do for fun around here:

Annual Picnic - We have a fun inter-generational potluck picnic in the summer. It's a great community event!
Book of the Month Club -
Meet the fourth Tuesday of the month to discuss a current or classic novel. This is an entertaining group to join for fun and insightful discussions.
College and Beyond - A group of young adults get together during the holiday seasons to catch up and hang out together.
Dinner Groups - Small evening groups are organized to bring members together for dialogue and dinner.
Gourmet Club - Thematic dinners are held in members' homes. This is an eclectic intergenerational mix of singles and couples.
Ladies Lunch Bunches - Meet the 3rd Thursday of the month at 11:30 AM in one of Albuquerque's many fine restaurants.
Progressive Dinner - Held the 1st Saturday in December, separate courses are hosted in participants' homes. Each course has a different combination of participants, enabling all to socialize with as many as possible. Dessert is hosted at the church.
Presbyterian Women - This active group provides spiritual and social activities for women of all ages. Women come together in prayer and study to nurture faith; support the mission of the church; work toward justice and peace; and to build an inclusive, care community. The two circles are: Mary Ruth Circle - 1st Wednesday at 9:30 AM at Covenant, Seekers Circle - 2nd Monday at 7:00 PM in a member's home.
R.O.M.E.O. Lunch Group - Covenant's R.O.M.E.O. (Retired Old Men Eating Out) group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at noon for lunch and fellowship at Ortega's Mexican restaurant, on Wyoming near Comanche. If you are retired or still working and can spare an hour once a month, please join us.
Southwest Traditional and Bluegrass Music - Meets the 1st Sunday of the month at 2:00 PM for an open jam session in the Fireside room. They also sponsor community bluegrass concerts several times a year at Covenant.
Various other activities such as potluck luncheons and picnics, ice cream social, and baseball games are held throughout the year.

Adult Sunday School

Cuba Presentation
On Sunday, February 12th, Dan and Gayle Pedrick, and Jensen Blankinship will make a presentation about their recent journey to Cuba with the Presbytery of Santa Fe.

The Parables
Helen Bennett has resumed her teachings on the parables.

The Divining Pen
Come join Kathryn Cameron and Sarah Kotchian on Feb. 19th in this one-week Sunday school class as we explore writing as a way to deepen our faith journeys. No writing experience necessary; all are welcome. We will write in class and take away some encouragement on writing into our questions and experiences of our life in God. Sarah will share how she is writing into her journey to Spain to walk the Camino de Santiago beginning this March. Kathryn will share how writing poetry has become for her communion with the Ineffable One.

Adult Lenten Study
We are already sneaking up on Lent which begins with Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22nd. Starting Thursday, March 1st at 5:30 pm, we will have a soup dinner together and then begin our adult Lenten series on Gradye Parson’s book, Open to Me the Gates. This explores the image of gates used repeatedly in scripture to talk about entering into a faithful relationship with God. Books are available in Narthex for $8.

Adult and Youth Sunday School
Starting on Feb. 26th we will begin a Lenten Sunday School series for adults and youth together focusing on Protestant Traditions. Much like our study last year on Different World Faiths, this year we will focus on our Sisters and Brothers of different protestant traditions. The classes will be team taught by the pastoral staff and several congregants who were parts of others Protestant traditions in the past. Here’s the line up:
February 26 Introduction: Seth Finch
March 4 Methodism: Jim Collie
March 11 Lutheranism: Kathryn Cameron March 18 Episcopal: Sue Browne & Rev. John Barton
March 25 Baptists: Paul Watson
April 1 Wrap up: Seth Finch
